Jocelyn Couvelaere is a Los
Angeles-based decorative painter who travels the world translating
clients' artistic fantasies into images on walls, ceilings
and floors.
His
specialties include:
- Murals
in the Italian style, such as the allegorical seaside
scene above
- Trompe
l'oeil, which in French means "to fool the eye"
- Faux
wood and marble (the fireplace and baseboards in the central
picture below are painted
to look like marble)
- Fine
art ornamentation
Joss,
as he is called, also is expert at painting children's rooms
with themes as simple as cloud-filled skies and as imaginative
as knights on horseback riding to a medieval fort.
