Sir David Linley's fascination with furniture engineering and construction
is evident in his latest garden collection. The large front wheel of the wheelbarrow planter is supported by two wooden forks that extend to become the handles of the wheelbarrow. The Garden Chaise can be manipulated into three different lounging positions, and a sliding drinks tray is positioned under the seating area. Linley included a number of conveniences in the drinks trolley on wheels, which features a handle that has three compartments to hold a bottle in each, a removable tray that rests in the top of the trolley and, below, a shelf bounded by metal rods for safe storage. Each item of furniture is constructed from horizontal solid chestnut slats that have been threaded onto stainless steel. The wood is left raw so that the weather in its location gives it the character of that area.
