Art Deco furniture über Frank Pollaro has such a special place
in his heart for his pup Sal that he designed and spent 100 hours constructing a bed made of Brazilian rosewood with
faux ivory stringing for the Yorkshire "terror," as Pollaro has dubbed him. The bed is
finished in traditional hand-applied French polish and dressed in a patriotic Clarence House fabric called Velours Celeste selected by Manhattan interior designer Harry Schnaper. Pollaro is custom-making beds to order for any size dog at a cost of $8,500 each, which includes upholstery (client supplies the fabric). Each bed is handsigned. Sal here got the following inscription: For my Special Boy Sal, on his First Birthday.
